Yellow Bellied Marmot at Shoshone FallsWe thought this guy was so cute, and we tiptoed around and scurried to get photos. Then we figure out he was actually following us. They are so spoiled and tame we could have shouted and screamed, and as long as he continued to believe he might get fed, which he did not, he'd have put up with anything. So sad...Jul 28, 2020

Back Yard Great Blue Heron IIIThis was the best, but still not all that good, reflection shot I got. This bird fished the entire rim of the pond, and I never saw him catch, or even try to catch, anything. Talk about skunked!Jul 25, 2020

Back Yard Great Blue Heron IIThis heron stayed, until someone happened by and scared him off.Jul 24, 2020

Back Yard Great Blue Heron IThe park is pumping out our pond because of the smell and the mosquitoes, and as the water gets lower the fishing gets better! I stood on our back porch to take this.Jul 24, 2020

Stately ProfileThis is another shot of the Bald Eagle that was so patient with us.Jul 17, 2020

Great Blue HeronWe stumbled upon this This Great Blue Heron on our way out of the area. He was not too elusive, but also not so cooperative. The bright log in the background overpowers this shot, making it more of a snapshot than an "image", but it's still one of the better Great Blue shots in my collection.Jul 15, 2020

Bald Eagle at Skagit WMAThis eagle permitted us to approach his tree, walk directly, well almost directly :), underneath, and camp out for 20+ minutes before he finally took off. He was up 60 feet or so, yielding the bottom-up view. Not the best view, I admint, but beggars can't be choosers.Jul 14, 2020

Cedar WaxwingAn adult. There were a few juveniles as well, but too hidden in the bush for decent photos.Jul 09, 2020

Black-Capped ChikadeeThis is a young black-capped chikadee that stopped by with two siblings to feast in the seed feeder behind our porch. Jun 24, 2020

An Annonymous VisitorAll attempts to identify this bird have failed. It is most likely a juvenile. Juvenile birds are notoriously hard to identify. My best guess is that it is in the Verio family.Jun 24, 2020

Northern Harrier at Whitewater DrawThis Northern Harrier showed up just as we thought we were finished for the day. Just at the parking lot, this fella decided it was time to look for dinner.Jun 02, 2020

Northern Harrier hunting at Whitewater DrawFast moving bird, at about 50 yards, at the end of a day. By now the 200-500mm Zoom was pretty heavy. I had a tough time staying on this guy for decent shots. This was not good, but among the best nonetheless. Used a very close crop to lose an annoying post intruding on the frame to save the frame.Jun 02, 2020

Sandhill Cranes Over Whitewater DrawA flight of Sandhill Cranes came by while we were at the refuge, but they just flew past, instead of dropping in for some dramatic landings. Jun 01, 2020
